Who you are working with
These arrangements apply to services supplied by Daniel Palfi, a UK sole trader. Contact hello@danielpalfi.com or use the contact page. My business postal address and contact number are supplied with your quote before you enter a contract.
Your written quote sets out the scope, deliverables, price, timetable and any project-specific arrangements. Please review and accept it before paying. These terms do not remove or restrict any rights you have under applicable consumer law.
Project payments
Unless a different schedule is agreed in writing, 50% is payable before work starts and the remaining 50% before launch or handover. The deposit is an advance against the project price, not an automatically non-refundable fee.
The quote and invoice will state the amount and due date. Please pay through the Stripe invoice or payment link provided for your project. Daniel Palfi is not currently VAT registered and does not charge VAT.
Any change to scope, price or delivery dates will be agreed before additional work is undertaken. Third-party subscriptions, licences or other ongoing costs will be identified in the quote where applicable; they are not included unless expressly stated.
Cancellation and refunds
If you need to cancel, email hello@danielpalfi.com with your name and project or invoice reference. Subject to the consumer rights below, the amount due will cover work completed at the agreed rates and agreed, evidenced non-recoverable costs. There will be no double charging, and reasonable steps will be taken to avoid unnecessary costs.
You will receive a breakdown. Any remaining advance will be refunded, normally to the original payment method. Where work and agreed costs exceed payments received, any remaining amount will be explained and invoiced in accordance with the contract and applicable law.
If I cannot fulfil the agreed work, I will contact you promptly to agree an appropriate resolution and refund sums due for work not supplied. Your rights concerning faulty or misdescribed services remain unaffected.
If you are buying as a consumer
A consumer is an individual acting wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, craft or profession. For a service contract agreed online or at a distance, you normally have 14 days after the day the contract is made to cancel without giving a reason.
I will not start during that period unless you expressly request an early start. If you then cancel within the period, you will only pay a proportionate amount for services supplied up to cancellation, where the legal requirements for that charge have been met. The general non-recoverable-cost provision above does not override these rights.
You lose the cancellation right during that period only once the service is fully performed, after your express request to start and acknowledgement that full performance ends that right. Paying a deposit alone is not that request or acknowledgement.
Refunds due following statutory cancellation will be made within 14 days of receiving your cancellation notice, using the same payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, without a refund fee. Separate statutory rules may apply to digital content; any required consent will be requested separately.
You can cancel using any clear statement, including email. You may use this optional form:

Ordered on: [date].
Consumer name: [name].

Ongoing support and questions
Recurring support is not automatically included in a project payment. Any ongoing plan will have a separately agreed price, billing frequency, scope and cancellation arrangement before recurring charges begin.
If you have a concern about a payment or the work, please contact me so I can investigate and respond. Payment information is handled as described in the Privacy Notice.
